All About Margaret bennett

As the author behind these stories, it’s a joy to welcome fellow lovers of clean historical romance to my corner of the web. My books are ideal for fans of Christian Regency romance, proper courtship tales, and stories that blend historical charm, intrigue and mystery with heartfelt emotion.

Here, you’ll find articles exploring the fascinating world of the Regency era, reviews from readers across various platforms, more about my journey as a writer, and all the latest updates on my books—including a new release coming soon.

With over 20 clean and witty Regency romances since 2012, I’ve been honored by the continued support of readers like you. The Hopeless Hoyden even made it into Amazon’s Top 100 Kindle Store rankings—an incredible milestone I’ll always cherish.

Writing gives me the freedom to explore new worlds and let my characters lead the way—though they don’t always respect office hours! Midnight inspiration is real (and so are naps).

When I’m not crafting ballroom scenes or spirited heroine encounters with provocative males, you can find me reading Heyer, researching Regency customs, or enjoying a cup of coffee with a good book in hand.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll stay a while, explore, and maybe even discover your next favorite escape.

Meet her sweet dog sally

A brown and white dog sitting on the floor.

Hi, I’m Sally!

I’m a brown and white pup with a big heart, and I live with my wonderful humans, Dennis and Margaret. They take great care of me, and I do my best to keep them smiling every day.

My mom, Margaret, is a clean Regency romance author, so our house is usually filled with the click-clack of the keyboard, cups of coffee, and lots of imagination. She writes sweet, historical love stories set in the elegant Regency era—so while she’s dreaming up proper gentlemen and clever heroines, I do my best to be her loyal writing companion (and occasional belly-rub alarm clock).

You might’ve seen me around the neighborhood—I love little adventures and saying hello (from a distance, at first). I’m a proud member of a very special group called the Paw Patrol. My best buddies are Izzy and Radar—we’ve been on all sorts of fun missions together. Lately, Cookie has been joining us, and sometimes Holly and Maggie tag along when their humans are in town. Everything’s better with friends.

One of the best parts of our walks is stopping by Miss Kay’s house. She gives us the tastiest treats! Radar acts like he’s too cool to care, but I know he gets just as excited as the rest of us. I always carry my treat straight home and eat it in my cozy corner. It’s my little routine. So if you see me heading home with a treat in my mouth, please don’t block the way—it’s serious business. One time, I even buried a treat in the backyard for later. I was very proud. Now I’m working on figuring out how to ring Miss Kay’s doorbell… wish me luck!

Dennis calls me his Mole Hunter because I’m always sniffing, digging, and—well, not to brag—I’ve caught quite a few. Miss Fran says I’m the only working dog in the neighborhood, which makes me feel very important. I’ve also mastered the art of jumping the backyard fence when something interesting is happening out front. I just like to stay informed!

If you see me out and want to say hi, I might keep a little distance at first. Please don’t be offended. My humans are rescues, and I want them to always feel safe knowing I’ll stay close. Once I know you’re kind, I might come over for a gentle pat.

Thanks for stopping by to read about me. If you’re here because you love dogs or sweet Regency romance novels, you’re in very good company. I hope we get to meet—and maybe even become friends!
